DIY Rosemary & Green Tea Hair Growth Wash (Rinse)

DIY Rosemary & Green Tea Hair Growth Wash (Rinse)

What This Hair Wash/Rinse Is Used For

This botanical hair rinse helps to:

  • Stimulate the scalp and encourage growth
  • Strengthen weak strands and reduce shedding
  • Add shine and softness
  • Balance scalp pH after shampoo
  • Reduce buildup and soothe irritation

An excellent option if you want a non-oily growth treatment that can be used more often.

đŸ§Ș Ingredients & Measurements

  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp dried rosemary or 4 fresh sprigs
  • 1 green tea bag (or 1 tsp loose tea)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (optional—boosts shine + scalp pH balance)
  • 5 drops peppermint essential oil (optional cooling effect)
  • 5 drops rosemary essential oil (optional for extra growth-boost)

🍃 How to Make It

  1. Boil the water
Heat 2 cups of water until it reaches a gentle boil.
  2. Add your herbs
Add the rosemary to the hot water and let it steep for 15 minutes.
  3. Add green tea
Add the green tea bag for 5 minutes (don’t over-steep or it may get too strong).
  4. Strain
Remove herbs and tea bag; let the liquid cool.
  5. Add optional ingredients
Stir in apple cider vinegar + essential oils once cooled.
  6. Store
Pour into a spray bottle or squeeze bottle.

 How to Use It

As a Post-Shampoo Hair Rinse

  • Shampoo your hair as usual.
  • Slowly pour the rinse over your scalp and hair.
  • Massage for 1–2 minutes.
  • Do NOT rinse out—let it absorb as a leave-in.
  • Style as normal.

As a Daily Scalp Mist

  • Pour into a spray bottle.
  • Lightly spritz your scalp once daily.
  • Great for refreshing protective styles and nourishing roots.

 Shelf Life

  • Fridge: 7–10 days
  • Room temperature: 24 hours (herbal teas spoil quickly)

Tip:

Freeze in ice cube trays for long storage. Melt 1–2 cubes for a single-use rinse.
