SOOTHING OAT MILK + HONEY GOAT MILK BATH SOAK

SOOTHING OAT MILK + HONEY GOAT MILK BATH SOAK

Combination is best for:

  • Eczema-prone or sensitive skin
  • Dry, flaky, tight skin
  • Itching and mild inflammation
  • Skin barrier repair
  • Post-shower or winter skin relief

It’s gentle enough for adults and children (except infants—see tips below).

🌾 Ingredients & Measurements (Standard Bathtub)

Dry ingredients (most stable option)

  • 1 cup powdered goat milk
  • ½ cup finely ground oats (colloidal oatmeal consistency)
  • 2–3 tablespoons raw honey

Optional add-ins (only if skin tolerates)

  • 1 tablespoon baking soda (extra itch relief)
  • 1 tablespoon rice powder (calming, silky feel)

If making fresh liquid oat milk

Instead of dry oats:

  • Blend ½ cup oats + 2 cups water
  • Strain well
  • Use 1–1½ cups of oat milk in the bath

Fresh oat milk has a shorter shelf life (details below).

 Benefits of Each Ingredient

Goat Milk

  • Rich in fatty acids + cholesterol → supports damaged skin barrier
  • Contains lactic acid → gentle exfoliation without stripping
  • Helps skin retain moisture longer

Oats (Colloidal / Oat Milk)

  • Clinically known to reduce itching and redness
  • Forms a protective film on the skin
  • Helps calm inflammation during eczema flares

Honey

  • Natural humectant (pulls moisture into skin)
  • Mild antibacterial properties
  • Supports healing of dry, irritated patches

🧴 How to Use

  1. Fill the tub with lukewarm water (never hot).
  2. Dissolve the ingredients in a cup of warm water before adding them to the bath.
  3. Soak for 10–15 minutes.
  4. Do not rinse off unless skin feels sticky.
  5. Pat dry gently.
  6. Apply a thick, fragrance-free moisturizer within 3 minutes.

📅 Frequency:

  • 2–3 times per week during flares
  • 1–2 times weekly for maintenance

🧊 Shelf Life & Storage

Dry mix (best option)

  • Shelf life: 2–3 months
  • Storage: Airtight glass jar, cool, dry place
  • Tip: Keep honey well mixed to avoid clumping

With liquid oat milk added

  • Fridge life: 2–3 days max
  • Storage: Sealed glass container, refrigerated
  • Discard if: Sour smell, separation with bubbles, or slimy texture

Goat milk powder alone

  • Pantry: Check manufacturer (usually 6–12 months unopened)
  • Once opened: Best used within 3–6 months

Do NOT store mixed liquid baths at room temperature.

 Usage Tips (Important)

  • Always patch test, especially for babies or highly reactive skin
  • Skip honey for infants under 1 year.
  • Avoid if skin is open, weeping, or infected.
  • Use very finely ground oats to prevent drain clogging.
  • Clean tub after use—milk baths can be slippery.
