Simple Home Remedy for a Decayed Tooth

(Pain relief + antibacterial support)

🧂🌱 Clove Oil & Salt Rinse Remedy

Ingredients & Measurements

  • Warm water – 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Clove oil – 2–3 drops
(If no clove oil: use ½ teaspoon clove powder instead)

How to Make It

  1. Warm the water (not hot).
  2. Add salt and stir until fully dissolved.
  3. Add clove oil and mix well.
  4. Use immediately as a mouth rinse.

How to Use

  • Take a sip, swish gently for 30–60 seconds, focusing on the affected tooth.
  • Spit it out (do not swallow).
  • Repeat 2–3 times daily, especially after meals and before bed.

Benefits of Each Ingredient

Salt

  • Draws out infection and fluid
  • Reduces swelling
  • Creates an environment where bacteria struggle to survive

Clove Oil

  • Contains eugenol, a natural anesthetic
  • Strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties
  • Helps numb tooth pain quickly

Warm Water

  • Improves circulation to the gums
  • Helps dissolve salt and distribute ingredients evenly
  • Soothes irritated tissues

Extra Usage Tips (Very Important)

  • ⚠️ Never apply clove oil directly to the tooth or gums undiluted—it can burn tissue.
  • Avoid chewing on the affected side.
  • Rinse your mouth with plain water after acidic foods.
  • Avoid sugar, soda, and very hot or very cold foods.
  • Brush gently with a soft-bristle toothbrush.

Shelf Life / Storage

  • Best used fresh each time.
  • If prepared ahead:
    • Store in a covered glass jar in the fridge
    • Shelf life: up to 24 hours
    • Warm slightly before use (do not microwave)

When to Seek Dental Care 🚨

Get professional help as soon as possible if you notice:

  • Persistent or worsening pain
  • Swelling in the face or jaw
  • Bad taste or pus
  • Fever

These signs mean the infection may be spreading.
