 Ingredients & Measurements

Basic Infused Oil (Internal + External Use)

  • Extra virgin olive oil: 1 cup
  • Cayenne pepper (powder):
    • Mild: 1 teaspoon
    • Stronger: up to 1 tablespoon

(Always start mild—cayenne extracts powerfully into oil.)

 How to Prepare

Gentle Infusion Method (Best)

  1. Place olive oil and cayenne in a heat-safe glass jar.
  2. Set the jar in a saucepan with a few inches of water (double boiler).
  3. Warm on very low heat for 1–2 hours. Do not boil.
  4. Stir occasionally.
  5. Strain through cheesecloth for a smoother oil.
  6. Cool and store in a sealed glass bottle.

No-Heat Option (Longer, gentler)

  • Let oil + cayenne sit in a sealed jar for 3–4 weeks, shaking every few days, then strain.
